Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A man from among the people before you was called to account. He had no good deeds except that he was a wealthy man and used to deal with people, and he had instructed his subordinates to show leniency to those in difficulty and to grant them respite. Allah Almighty said to the angels: I am more deserving of this (quality), so you overlook him. (Leave him alone.)

The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever grants respite to a debtor or forgives him, that person will be under the shade of Allah’s Throne on the Day of Resurrection.

The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever helps a warrior in the path of Allah, or grants respite to a debtor in difficulty, or assists a slave in gaining his freedom, Allah Almighty will grant him shade on the Day when there will be no shade except the shade of His Throne.

Hazrat Uqbah bin Aamir said to Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) to narrate a hadith he had heard from the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Hazrat Hudhaifah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: Among the people before you, an angel came to seize the soul of a man. The angel asked him, "Do you have any good deed?" He replied, "I do not know." The angel said, "Think." He said, "I know nothing except that I used to deal with people in the world, I would give respite to the poor and show leniency and overlook shortcomings with the rich." Allah Almighty admitted him into Paradise.

The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Take your right with forgiveness and pardon, whether you receive it in full or not.

The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever grants respite to a person in difficulty or forgives him, Allah Almighty will grant him a place under the shade of the Throne.
