Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Husain that two men testified before Hazrat Shurayh, and he passed judgment. Then one of the witnesses retracted his testimony, but Hazrat Shurayh did not accept his retraction.

Hazrat Hakam says that the decision will not be taken back, and Hazrat Hammad says that the decision will be taken back.

It is narrated from Hasan that if two witnesses give testimony, then both of them retract, while the verdict has already been executed, he says that the verdict will be annulled.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Husain that a man came to Hazrat Shurayh and gave testimony, then he came again and retracted his testimony. Hazrat Shurayh said: We have already accepted your testimony.

Hazrat Sufyan says that when a verdict has been issued, testimony will also be permissible, and if a witness retracts his testimony, he will be held liable.
