Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Shurayh says that the testimony of a Jew and a Christian is permissible only in travel and in matters of will.

It is narrated from Hazrat Sha'bi that a man from the tribe of Khath'am passed away at the place of Daqouqa. He appointed only two Christians as witnesses to his will. After Asr prayer, Abu Musa made both of them swear with these words: "By God! We have not committed any dishonesty, nor have we concealed it, nor have we altered it. Indeed, this is the will." Then he accepted the testimony of those two Christians.

Hazrat Ubaidah, regarding the verse of the Holy Qur'an { أَوْ آخَرَانِ مِنْ غَیْرِکُمْ }, states that the People of the Book are meant.

Ibrahim says that by { أَوْ آخَرَانِ مِنْ غَیْرِکُمْ } is meant people other than your religion.

It is also narrated in the same manner from Hazrat Saeed bin Al-Musayyib.

It is also narrated in the same manner from Hazrat Abu Majliz.

It is also narrated in a similar manner from Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair (may Allah have mercy on him).

Hasan says that people other than your family are meant.

Hazrat Ubaidah was asked about this matter? He replied: People other than your religion are meant.

Hazrat Ibn Sirin, may Allah have mercy on him, said that { أَوْ آخَرَانِ مِنْ غَیْرِکُمْ } refers to people of all nations.

Hazrat Zuhri (may Allah have mercy on him) says regarding the verse of the Holy Qur'an { أَوْ آخَرَانِ مِنْ غَیْرِکُمْ } that they are among the heirs.
