Wages of the Cleaner
Hadith 23708
٢٣٧٠٨ - [حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عبد الأعلى عن هشام قال: سئل الحسن عن كسب الكساح، فقال: ما تريدودن إليهم دعوهم؟ فلولاهم ⦗٣١٥⦘ السيل) (١) بكم] (٢).
Asked about the wages of the one who cleans (removes filth)? He (the Prophet) said: What do you want from them? Leave them alone. If they were not there, filth would overwhelm you.
Hadith 23709
٢٣٧٠٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عبد الأعلى عن (هشام) (١) عن محمد أنهم كانوا يكسحون لهم فيعطوهم أجورهم.
Muhammad, may Allah have mercy on him, said that those who cleaned used to clean for the elders of the past, and they would receive wages for it.
Hadith 23710
٢٣٧١٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا حسن عن مطرف عن الحسن أنه كان يكره أجر الكساح.
Hasan disliked receiving payment for performing purification.
Hadith 23711
٢٣٧١١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع قال: (حدثنا مهدي) (١) بن ميمون عن واصل مولى (أبي عيينة) (٢) عن رجل عن ابن (عمر) (٣) أن رجلا سأله فقال: أصبت مالا من كنس هذه الحشوش، فقال: فيه قولا شديدا (٤).
A person asked Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that I have found this wealth from cleaning these toilets. Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used harsh words regarding this.
Hadith 23712
٢٣٧١٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا إسماعيل الأزرق عن الشعبي أنه كره أن يُسْلِم الرجل غلامه كساحا.
Hazrat Sha’bi (may Allah have mercy on him) disliked that a man assigns cleaning to his slave.
Hadith 23713
٢٣٧١٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو أسامة عن أبان بن يزيد (قال) (١): حدثنا (أبو) (٢) عبد اللَّه (الشقري) (٣) أن ابن عمر (سئل) (٤) عن كسب ⦗٣١٦⦘ الكناس؟ فقال: (خبيث) (٥)، كسب خبيث، أكل خبيث، لبس خبيث (٦).
Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) was asked about the wages for cleaning. He replied: It is impure, the earning is impure, wearing it is impure, and eating it is impure.
