Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hasan says that if a person buys gold from someone in exchange for dirhams, and weighs the dinars and finds them to be more, and receives silver in exchange for the excess, then there is no harm in it. And Ibn Sirin disliked this, and said: Receive all the gold in full.

Hazrat Ibrahim disliked exchanging gold for half dinars and silver for half dinars.

Hazrat Ibn Sirin disliked equating both.

Ibrahim disliked that a person would sell dinars and take some in gold and some in silver in exchange, while Hazrat Hakam did not see any harm in it.

Ibn Aun narrates that I asked Muhammad (may Allah have mercy on him), "I bought dinars and said, 'Are you free from their weight?'" He replied, "I do not see any harm in this."
