Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever buys a Musarrat goat (a goat whose owner has stopped milking it for a few days before selling it so that the buyer thinks it gives more milk), he has the option; if he wishes, he may return the goat, and for the milk he has used, he should give one sa’ of dates in exchange.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said that whoever buys a musarrat goat has two options: if he wishes to return it, he should give along with it one sa’ of dates or one sa’ of wheat.

Hazrat Abdullah says that if a person buys a milk-giving goat and then returns it, he should also give one sa’ (measure) of wheat or something similar along with it.
