Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ismail narrates that I was present with Hazrat Qasim when two people came to him arguing. One of them had bought an animal from the other. He said to Hazrat Qasim, "Order him to give me a guarantor so that if any loss comes to me regarding this horse in the transaction, he will compensate for that loss." Hazrat Qasim said, "Did you make this a condition at the time of sale?" He replied, "No." Hazrat Qasim said, "Then you have no right to do so."
