Buying Camels or Similar Animals in Exchange for Goods
Hadith 23524
٢٣٥٢٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا (هشام) (١) بن عروة عن أبيه أن النبي ﷺ اشترى من أعرابي جزورًا بوسق من تمر فأرسلني إلى خولة بنت حكيم فأوفته وقال: "خياركم الموفون (المطيبون) (٢) " (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Urwah (may Allah have mercy on him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) bought a camel from a Bedouin in exchange for a wasq of dates. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent a message to Khawlah bint Hakim, so she filled a wasq completely and gave it in full measure. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best among you is the one who gives in full and gives well."
Hadith 23525
٢٣٥٢٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا يونس ابن أبي إسحاق عن مجاهد قال: (اشترى) (١) مهرًا من أعرابي بمائة صاع من تمر، فقال النبي ﷺ (للرجل) (٢): "انطلق فقل (لهم) (٣): يأكلوا حتى يشبعوا، و (يكتالوا) (٤) حتى "يستوفوا" (٥)، -يعني الكيل-، فخرج الرجل وهو (يحك) (٦) (بمرفقيه) (٧) -يعني يشتد (٨) (٩).
It is narrated from Hazrat Mujahid that the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) bought a calf from a Bedouin in exchange for one hundred sa’ of dates. The Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said to that person: Go and tell the people to eat to their fill, and keep measuring until the weight is complete (i.e., whenever you give something, give it with full weight). That person went out in such a state that he had his elbows joined together.
Hadith 23526
٢٣٥٢٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا محمد بن أبي عبيدة قال: (حدثنا) (١) أبي عن الأعمش عن أبي صالح عن أبي سعيد قال: قال رسول اللَّه ﷺ: "لا قدست أمة لا يعطى الضعيف فيها حقه غير (متعتع) (٢) " (٣).
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed that the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said: That nation is not purified in which the weak are not given their rights without delay or evasion.
