Those Who Dislike Buying Stolen Goods
Hadith 23468
٢٣٤٦٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عباد بن العوام عن هشام عن الحسن قال: إذا دخلت سوق (المسلمين) (١) (فاشتر) (٢) ما وجدت ما لم تعلم أنه خيانة أو سرقة.
Hasan says that when you go to the market, you may buy whatever you find, as long as you do not know that the item is stolen or embezzled (in that case, you should not buy it).
Hadith 23469
٢٣٤٦٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع قال: حدثنا سفيان عن مصعب بن محمد عن رجل من أهل المدينة قال: قال النبي ﷺ (١): "من اشترى سرقة وهو يعلم أنها سرقة فقد شرك في عارها وأثمها" (٢).
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: Whoever knows that something is stolen property and still buys it, then he is a partner in its theft and sin.
Hadith 23471
٢٣٤٧١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو أسامة عن هشام عن ابن سيرين عن عبيدة بمثله.
It is narrated from Hazrat Ubaidah in the same manner.
