Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: In my view, the most preferred sale is the one in which the price is written and a tag is attached.

Hazrat Tawus (may Allah have mercy on him) disliked placing price tags on goods for sale. He used to say that I dislike adorning my goods with falsehood.

Hazrat Ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) says that a person writes whatever price he wants for his goods, then he says that I have written this price so that I may deal justly with you, then he sells that item at a reduced price, selling ten for nine.

Hazrat Abdul Malik bin Abi Qasim (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I asked Hazrat Nafi’ and Hazrat Rabi’: We buy cloth, then add some amount to its price, then attach a price tag to it, and then sell it as a Murabaha sale, but we do not disclose the extra amount added to the price. What is the ruling on this? They replied: No, this is deception and falsehood.

Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said that there is no harm in writing the price on the clothes and then selling them by saying: I sell them to you at this price with Murabaha sale.

Hazrat Hakam (may Allah have mercy on him) says that this sale is like a sale by bargaining.
