Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Zuhri says that in matters where men cannot be informed, the testimony of women is valid, such as childbirth among women and women's defects, etc. Regarding whether a newborn baby has breathed, only the testimony of the midwife and two other women with her will be valid.

Hazrat Sha'bi says that in matters where the testimony of men is not valid, the testimony of two women is sufficient.

Hazrat Ata says that the testimony of women regarding the breathing of a newborn child is valid.

Hazrat Aamir says that there are some testimonies in which only the testimony of women can be accepted.

Ibrahim, Hasan, and Hazrat Sha'bi state that in matters about which men cannot be informed, the testimony of just one woman is also sufficient.

Hazrat Ata says that in matters where the testimony of men is not valid, the testimony of fewer than four women is not acceptable.

Hazrat Shurayh considered the testimony of a midwife permissible.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) considered the testimony of the midwife permissible.

Hazrat Hammad says that the testimony of one midwife is sufficient, and one of them says that even if she is a Jewess.

Hazrat Sha'bi says that there are some testimonies in which only a woman's testimony is permissible.
