Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ibrahim considered it undesirable to sell in exchange for an annual stipend or the harvest of a crop. He said that it is necessary to specify the month.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) says: Do not sell for 'Aseer' (unfermented juice), nor for an annual stipend, nor for the date harvest.

It is narrated similarly through another chain.

Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair says: Do not sell (crops) for the time of harvesting, or for the time of the dates ripening, or for the annual stipend, but rather fix a specific month.

Muhammad was asked about selling for an annual stipend, so he said: I do not know what this is.

Hazrat Ata declared the sale up to the annual stipend as disliked.

Hazrat Hakam declared the sale up to the annual stipend as disliked.

Hazrat Dabi bin Amr says that I asked Hazrat Salim about selling fruits before they have ripened, so he said that this is not permissible. Sell for a known period.

Hazrat Bukair bin Atiq says that I asked Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair whether I can sell (crops) until the harvest or (fruits) until they are picked? He replied: No, sell for a known measure and a known period.
