Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) was asked: If a person has seen the grain being weighed, is it necessary to measure it again before purchasing? He replied: It is necessary to measure it again before purchasing.

Hazrat Mutarrif says that I asked Hazrat Sha’bi, “I was present at the time of measuring a grain, can I buy it without measuring it?” He replied that it is necessary to measure separately for every transaction.

Hazrat Ziyad says that I asked Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib if a person measures and buys grain, is it permissible for another person to suffice with his measurement and buy it? He replied, "No, rather it is necessary to have it measured in front of oneself."

Hazrat Maymun Qanad says that I asked Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib: A man sells an animal, and I see him weighing it, so can I buy it according to that weight? He replied: It was said that this is the usury which is mixed with measure and weight.

Hazrat Khalid bin Abdur Rahman Salmi narrates that a man presented some utensils for sale. Another man bought them. Then, when he intended to sell them with the same nail, Hasan considered it undesirable.

The Hazrat says that if a person saw something being nailed and if he wants to buy it, it must be nailed again.

Hazrat Muhammad bin Sirin was asked that a man bought food, another was with him who says that he saw the sale and possession, then he wants to buy that thing with profit, so should he buy it at the same measure? He replied that before selling it a second time, it is necessary to measure it again so that any increase or decrease may be known.
