Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abdullah bin Dinar narrates that I went with Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) towards Banu Muawiyah. There, some dogs barked at us, so Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Whoever keeps a dog for any purpose other than hunting or guarding livestock, two qirats will be deducted from his reward every day.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever keeps a dog for any purpose other than hunting or guarding, two qirats will be deducted from his reward every day.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever keeps a dog for any purpose other than hunting or guarding, two qirats will be deducted from his reward every day. Hazrat Abu Hurairah has narrated this hadith with the words "dog for farming."

In a narration of Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), there is an addition of "a dog for protection."

Hazrat Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that whoever keeps a dog for any purpose other than hunting, herding animals, or guarding, two qirats will be deducted from his reward every day.

Hazrat Makhool states that whoever keeps a dog for any purpose other than hunting or guarding animals, one qirat of reward will be deducted from the household’s good deeds every day.

It is narrated from Hazrat Sufyan bin Abi Zuhair that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: Whoever keeps a dog for any purpose other than farming or guarding livestock, one qirat will be deducted from his reward every day.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever keeps a dog, one qirat from his reward will be reduced daily.
