Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) says that the animals which you cannot control are like game (hunted animals).

Hazrat Tawus says that if a camel or cow, etc., gets out of your control, then deal with it in the same way as you deal with wild animals.

Hazrat Dahhak says that if a cow becomes wild, then it is like game (prey).

Hazrat Habib narrates that once a camel became wild, so a man speared it. Regarding this, Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked, and he replied, "Eat it," and (then jokingly said), "and gift me some meat from its hind part."

Ibrahim and Hazrat Sha’bi state that if a camel or a cow becomes wild, then they should be treated in the same manner as a wild animal.

Hasan and Ibrahim say that such an animal is like game.

Hazrat Ziyad bin Abi Maryam narrates that a wild donkey got out of the control of his family, so they struck its neck with a sword. Then, regarding this matter, Hazrat Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked, and he said that this is considered as being quickly slaughtered.

Hazrat Alqamah narrates that a wild donkey appeared in the house of Hazrat Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him). A man recited Bismillah and struck its neck with a sword, so Hazrat Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "This is game, so eat it."

It is narrated similarly through another chain.

Hazrat Alqamah narrates that in the house of Hazrat Abdullah, when a donkey became wild, a man struck its neck with a sword. Hazrat Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about this matter, so he said: Eat it, it is game.

Hazrat Abu Ja'far narrates that in a house in Madinah, a bull became wild. A man recited Bismillah and struck it with a sword. Regarding this, Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked, and he replied that it is lawful and pure, so eat it.

Hazrat Rafi’ bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that once we were with the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) when suddenly a camel became unruly. A man struck it with a sword. This incident was mentioned to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he said: These domesticated animals sometimes become rebellious and uncontrollable like wild animals. Do the same with any animal that gets out of your control.
