Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said that when you throw an arrow towards the game and do not say Bismillah, and before the game is killed you remember and recite Bismillah, then if the game dies, eat it. The same ruling applies to a dog.

Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) says that if a dog chases the prey without the owner's knowledge, and after finding the dog's prey, the hunter recites "Bismillah" and then the dog hunts, he may eat it.

Hazrat Aamir (may Allah have mercy on him) says that when you send your dog or arrow towards the prey and at that time you forget to say Bismillah, then later when that arrow or dog reaches the prey, you cannot eat that prey. This is because it is necessary that you say Bismillah at the time of sending it.

Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) said that if a person forgets to mention the name of Allah while shooting an arrow, there is no harm in it.

Hazrat Ibn Harmalah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I asked Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him) that if I forget to say the name of Allah while throwing my stone towards the prey, what is the ruling? He replied: Recite Bismillah and eat it.
