Ruling on Making Designs with Dye (Henna)
Hadith 18609
١٨٦٠٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: نا وكيع (عن شعبة) (١) عن (بديل) (٢) بن ميسرة عن أبي عطية عن امرأة (منهم) (٣) (قالت) (٤): سمعت عمر ينهى عن النقش و (التطاريف) (٥) في (الخضاب) (٦) (٧).
Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) forbade making designs with dye and coloring the edges of the fingers with it.
Hadith 18610
١٨٦١٠ - حدثنا وكيع عن زكريا قال: (حدثتني) (١) أمية (قالت) (٢): كنت (أقين) (٣) (العرائس) (٤) بالمدينة فسألت عائشة عن الخضاب فقالت: لا بأس به ما ⦗٦٧⦘ لم يكن فيه نقش (٥).
Hazrat Umayyah (may Allah have mercy on her) says that I used to prepare brides in Madinah. I asked Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about dyeing (with henna), so she said that there is no harm in it, as long as no designs are made.
Hadith 18611
١٨٦١١ - حدثنا عبد الأعلى عن (خالد) (١) عن شيخ أن عمر نهى عن نقش في الخضاب (والتطاريف) (٢) (٣).
Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) forbade making designs with dye and coloring the edges of the fingers with it.
