Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that Hazrat Barirah's (may Allah be pleased with her) husband was a free man.

Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Hazrat Barirah's (may Allah be pleased with her) husband was a freed man.

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that at the time of Hazrat Barirah’s (may Allah be pleased with her) emancipation, her husband was free.

Hazrat Safiyyah bint Abi Ubaid narrates that Hazrat Barirah’s (may Allah be pleased with her) husband was a slave.

Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the husband of Hazrat Barirah (may Allah be pleased with her) was a slave.

Hazrat Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Barirah's (may Allah be pleased with her) husband was an Abyssinian slave. His name was Mughith, and he was a slave of Banu Mughira, a branch of Banu Makhzum.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates that Hazrat Barirah’s (may Allah be pleased with her) husband was a black slave of Banu Mughira, whose name was Mughith. It is as if I can see the scene before me when he would be following Hazrat Barirah (may Allah be pleased with her) in the streets of Madinah, and his tears would be flowing down his beard. He wanted to please her, but Hazrat Barirah (may Allah be pleased with her) did not choose him.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that Hazrat Barirah's (may Allah be pleased with her) husband was a black slave.

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that when Hazrat Barirah (may Allah be pleased with her) was set free, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave her the choice (to either maintain her marriage or end it). Her husband was a free man.

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that Hazrat Barirah's (may Allah be pleased with her) husband was a freed slave.
