Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that if a woman claims her dower (mahr) after the death of her husband, the judge will ask her for evidence.

Hazrat Hakam (may Allah have mercy on him) says that if a woman claims her dower (mahr) after the death of her husband, she must present evidence. Hazrat Hammad (may Allah have mercy on him) says that she will be given the customary dower (mahr mithl).

Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the testimony will be upon the guardians of the woman, that is, her wali, and for the man, it will be taken from his family.
