Explanation of the Quranic Verse: {Other than those who have no desire for women} ({غَیْرِ أُولِی الْإِرْبَۃِ})
Hadith 18069
١٨٠٦٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: (نا) (١) جرير عن مغيرة عن الشعبي في قوله: ﴿غَيْرِ أُولِي الْإِرْبَةِ﴾ [النور: ٣١]، قال: الذي لم يبلغ إربه أن يطلع على عورة النساء.
Hazrat Sha'bi, in the commentary of the verse { غَیْرِ أُولِی الْإِرْبَۃِ } of the Holy Quran, states that it refers to a child who has not yet reached the understanding to be aware of matters concerning women.
Hadith 18070
١٨٠٧٠ - حدثنا ابن إدريس أظنه عن ليث عن مجاهد قال: في قوله: ﴿غَيْرِ أُولِي الْإِرْبَةِ﴾، قال: الأبله الذي لا يعرف أمر النساء.
Hazrat Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him), in the commentary of the verse { غَیْرِ أُولِی الْإِرْبَۃِ } of the Holy Qur'an, states that it refers to a child who has not yet reached the understanding to be aware of matters concerning women.
Hadith 18071
١٨٠٧١ - حدثنا ابن علية عن ابن أبي نجيح (عن مجاهد) (١) في قوله: ﴿غَيْرِ أُولِي الْإِرْبَةِ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ﴾، قال: (الذي لا إرب له بالنساء) (٢).

Hadith 18072
١٨٠٧٢ - حدثنا ابن مهدي عن حماد بن سلمة عن عطاء بن السائب عن سعيد ابن جبير قال: (المعتوه) (١).
Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib (may Allah have mercy on him), in the commentary of the verse { غَیْرِ أُولِی الْإِرْبَۃِ } of the Holy Qur'an, says that it refers to a madman.
Hadith 18073
١٨٠٧٣ - (١) (حدثنا) (٢) أبو بكر قال: (نا) (٣) أسباط بن (محمد) (٤) عن أشعث عن الحسن قال: هو الذي يقولون: أحمق.
Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) says in the commentary of the verse { غَیْرِ أُولِی الْإِرْبَۃِ } of the Holy Qur'an that it refers to a foolish person.
Hadith 18074
١٨٠٧٤ - حدثنا عبيد اللَّه عن إسرائيل عن أبي إسحاق عن رجل عن ابن عباس قال: هو الذي لا (تستحي) (١) منه النساء (٢).
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), in the explanation of the verse of the Holy Qur'an { غَیْرِ أُولِی الْإِرْبَۃِ }, says that it refers to that from which women do not feel shy.
Hadith 18075
١٨٠٧٥ - حدثنا وكيع عن مسعر عن عون عن عكرمة (قال) (١): هو الذي لا يقوم إربه.
Hazrat Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him), in the commentary of the verse { غَیْرِ أُولِی الْإِرْبَۃِ } of the Holy Qur'an, says that it refers to a person whose intellect is not sound.
