Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In the case of a woman’s marriage, it is not permissible to marry her paternal aunt or maternal aunt.

Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said that in the case of a woman's marriage, it is not permissible to marry her maternal aunt or paternal aunt.

Hazrat Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that in the case of a woman's marriage, it is not permissible to marry her paternal aunt or her maternal aunt.

Hasan says that in the case of a woman's marriage, it is not permissible to marry her paternal aunt or her maternal aunt.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: In the case of a woman being in wedlock, it is not permissible to marry her paternal aunt or her maternal aunt. If the niece is married, it is not permissible to marry her paternal aunt; if the niece is married, it is not permissible to marry her maternal aunt. If the younger sister is married, it is not permissible to marry the elder sister, and if the elder sister is married, it is not permissible to marry the younger sister.

It is narrated from Ibrahim that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said that in the case of a woman being married, it is not permissible to marry her paternal aunt or her maternal aunt.

Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib states that it is prohibited to marry a woman’s paternal aunt or maternal aunt while being married to that woman. Similarly, it is unlawful for a man to have intercourse with a woman who is carrying another man’s fetus in her womb.

Ibrahim says that if a woman is married, it is not permissible to marry her paternal or maternal aunt. If he divorces her, he cannot marry any of them until her waiting period is completed.

Hazrat Zakariya narrates that I asked Hazrat Sha’bi: If a woman is married and her foster maternal aunt is also married to the same man, what is the ruling? He replied that separation will be enforced between them.

Hazrat Zuhri says that it is not permissible for any man to combine a woman and her foster paternal aunt in slavery.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of the conquest of Makkah, the Prophet (ﷺ) said that if a woman is married, it is not permissible to marry her paternal or maternal aunt.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade marrying a woman along with her paternal aunt or maternal aunt while she is already married to someone.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man married a woman’s maternal aunt while the woman was still his wife, so Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) punished him and separated the two.

Hasan narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) forbade marrying a woman along with her paternal aunt or maternal aunt while she is already married to someone.
