Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said that when the door is closed and the curtain is drawn for privacy, the dowry becomes obligatory.

It is narrated in the same way with some additions through another chain of transmission.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that when the door is closed and the curtain is drawn for privacy, the dowry becomes obligatory.

It is narrated similarly through another chain.

Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) say that when the door is closed and the curtain is drawn for privacy, then the dowry becomes obligatory. And the woman will also be required to observe the waiting period (iddah).

Hazrat Sulayman bin Yasar narrates that a man married a woman and spent some time with her in the afternoon. Marwan asked Hazrat Zaid about this matter, and he replied that such a woman will receive the full dowry. Marwan said that the man is not among those who should be suspected. Hazrat Zaid said, "If she becomes pregnant or gives birth to a child, will you enforce the prescribed punishment on him?"

Hazrat Umar and Hazrat Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with them) say that when the door is closed and the curtain is drawn for privacy, the dowry becomes obligatory.

Hazrat Zararah bin Aufi states that it was the decision of the Rightly Guided Caliphs that when the door is closed for privacy and the curtain is drawn, the dowry becomes obligatory. And the waiting period (iddah) will also become obligatory.

Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When the veils are drawn, the dowry becomes obligatory.

Hazrat Nafi' bin Jubair bin Mut'im narrates from a companion that when the door is closed and the curtain is drawn for privacy, the dowry becomes obligatory.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that when the door is closed for privacy, the curtain is drawn, and seclusion is established, then the dowry becomes obligatory.

Hazrat Umar and Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both) say that when a curtain is drawn for seclusion or seclusion is chosen, then the dowry becomes obligatory and the waiting period becomes obligatory.

Hazrat Jabir narrates that if a man looks at a woman's private part and then divorces her, the dowry becomes obligatory upon the man and the waiting period becomes obligatory upon the woman.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that when the door is closed and the curtain is drawn for privacy, the dowry becomes obligatory.

Ibrahim says that when a husband has seen those parts of his wife which it is not permissible for anyone else to see, then the dowry and waiting period become obligatory.

Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Thawban narrates that a man stripped his wife naked on the road, so Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) decreed the full dower (mahr) for her.
