Hadith 17517
١٧٥١٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر عن حسين بن علي عن زائدة عن عبد العزيز بن رفيع عن (ابن) (١) أبي مليكة قال: نزلت هذه الآية: ﴿وَلَنْ تَسْتَطِيعُوا أَنْ تَعْدِلُوا بَيْنَ النِّسَاءِ ⦗٣٤٩⦘ وَلَوْ حَرَصْتُمْ﴾ [النساء: ١٢٩]، في عائشة (٢).
Hazrat Ibn Abi Mulaykah says that the verse of the Holy Qur’an: { وَلَنْ تَسْتَطِیعُوا أَنْ تَعْدِلُوا بَیْنَ النِّسَائِ وَلَوْ حَرَصْتُمْ } "Even if you wish, you will not be able to do justice between wives" was revealed regarding Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her).
Hadith 17518
١٧٥١٨ - حدثنا حفص عن أشعث عن محمد عن عبيدة قال: الحب والجماع.
Hazrat Ubaidah says that the verse of the Holy Qur'an: { وَلَنْ تَسْتَطِیعُوا أَنْ تَعْدِلُوا بَیْنَ النِّسَائِ وَلَوْ حَرَصْتُمْ } "Even if you wish, you will not be able to do justice between wives" refers to love and intercourse.
Hadith 17519
١٧٥١٩ - حدثنا سهل بن يوسف عن عمرو (عن) (١) الحسن قال: في الحب ﴿فَلَا تَمِيلُوا كُلَّ الْمَيْلِ﴾ قال: في الغشيان، ﴿فَتَذَرُوهَا كَالْمُعَلَّقَةِ﴾ قال: (لا) (٢) (أيم) (٣) ولا ذات زوج.
Hasan says that the verse of the Holy Qur'an { فَلاَ تَمِیلُوا کُلَّ الْمَیْلِ } was revealed about love, and { فَتَذَرُوہَا کَالْمُعَلَّقَۃِ } was revealed about intercourse. That the woman should be neither a virgin nor married.
Hadith 17520
١٧٥٢٠ - حدثنا علي بن حسن (بن) (١) شقيق قال: (أخبرنا) (٢) حسين بن واقد قال: (نا) (٣) يزيد النحوي عن عكرمة عن ابن عباس في قوله (٤): ﴿فَتَذَرُوهَا كَالْمُعَلَّقَةِ﴾، قال: لا مطلقة ولا ذات بعل (٥).
Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) regarding the verse of the Holy Qur'an { فَتَذَرُوہَا کَالْمُعَلَّقَۃِ } says that it means that a woman should be neither divorced nor married to her husband.
