Explanation of Allah’s Statement: {And Land Game is Forbidden to You}
Hadith 16645
١٦٦٤٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا وكيع عن عمران بن (حدير) (١) عن أبي (مجلز) (٢) في قوله (٣): ﴿وَحُرِّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ صَيْدُ الْبَرِّ مَا دُمْتُمْ حُرُمًا﴾ [المائدة: ٩٦]، قال: ما كان يعيش في البر (والبحر) (٤) فلا تصده، وما كان يعيش في البحر فذاك.
Hazrat Abu Majliz, in the explanation of Allah Almighty’s command { وَ حُرِّمَ عَلَیْکُمْ صَیْدُ الْبَرِّ }, states that animals which live both in the sea and on land should not be hunted, and those animals which live in the sea are also the same.
