Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Waki’ said that I asked Hazrat Sufyan, “If a person forgets a wajib tawaf and leaves after performing the farewell tawaf?” Hazrat Sufyan replied, “The tawaf al-sadr is wajib; for missing the tawaf al-sadr, a sacrifice (dam) is required.” And Hazrat Hasan bin Salih said, “No, it will not suffice, as if he has not performed the tawaf at all.” And if a person performing qiran does tawaf for Hajj before performing umrah? He replied, “The tawaf he performed for Hajj will be counted for umrah, and he will be required to perform tawaf again for Hajj.” And Hazrat Hasan bin Salih says, “It will not suffice for him.”

16595 - Al-Hasan ibn Salih said: It does not suffice him, as if he did not perform the tawaf.

16596 - And regarding (the Qarin) (1) he arrived and performed tawaf for Hajj (before the ‘Umrah? He said: He makes the tawaf which he performed for Hajj) (2) as for ‘Umrah, and he must perform tawaf for Hajj.

16597 - Al-Hasan ibn Salih said: It does not suffice him.

Hazrat Sufyan says that when forgetfulness (sahw), talbiyah, and takbeer are combined, then begin with forgetfulness (sahw), then say the talbiyah, and then say the takbeer.
