Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Qasim used to perform ghusl before entering Makkah Mukarramah.

Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila states that performing ghusl (ritual bath) on the day of entering Makkah Mukarramah is (recommended) mustahabb.

Ibrahim narrates that when Hazrat Alqama, Hazrat Aswad, and our other companions reached the well of Maimoon, they would bathe in it and wear good clothes.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) would not enter Makkah Mukarramah for Hajj or Umrah until he had performed ghusl (ritual bath) at (the place of) Dhu Tuwa.

Whenever Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) intended to enter Makkah Mukarramah, he would perform ghusl and would instruct others to do so as well.
