Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Sabit that the noble companions would come for Hajj and let their mounts graze, then they would come and perform the stoning (rami) at night.

It is narrated from Hazrat Amr that the person who saw some of the noble wives (Azwaj-e-Mutahharat) performing Rami at the time of Maghrib informed me of this.

Hazrat Ata and Hazrat Tawus say that if the shepherd who rents out the animal is not found, and the person forgets, then both of them can perform the stoning at night.

Hazrat Zuhri says that the shepherds used to perform Rami at night and did not spend the night there.
