Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with both of them) used to offer the sacrifice in Mina without performing the Eid al-Adha prayer.

Hazrat Laith says that I asked Hazrat Ata whether Hazrat Abdul Karim told me in Mina that one should not offer the sacrifice before performing the prayer? Hazrat Ata replied that this restriction is not necessary for the people of Mina, but for those coming from outside. The narrator says that I asked Hazrat Mujahid as well; he also replied in the same way as Hazrat Ata.

Hazrat Abdul Malik says that I asked Hazrat Ata whether a person had told me to perform the Eid prayer before offering the sacrifice? Hazrat Ata replied that there is no Eid prayer for the people of Mina; their prayer is simply to stay in Mina.

Hazrat Mujahid, Hazrat Ata, Hazrat Tawus, Hazrat Salim, and Hazrat Qasim state that on the days of sacrifice in Mina, there is no Eid prayer.

Ibrahim and Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Al-Aswad performed two units of Eid prayer in Mina before the sacrifice.

Hazrat Saeed bin Al-Musayyib says that for the person who is offering sacrifice, it is obligatory to perform the two Eid prayers before the sacrifice, and for the one who is not offering sacrifice, it is necessary for him to be present in Mina, and it was their belief that they did not prostrate before the Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha prayers.
