Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hasan and Hazrat Ata state that there is no ramal (walking briskly with shoulders raised) for the people of Makkah, nor for the one who assumes ihram from Makkah, except for that person among the people of Makkah who comes from outside.

When Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) would enter into Ihram from Makkah Mukarramah, he would not perform Ramal.

Hazrat Humaid says that I and Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq put on Ihram from Makkah Mukarramah, then we performed Tawaf of the House of Allah and did Ramal during the Tawaf.

Hazrat Ata was asked about the neighbor of the House of Allah (Ka'bah), that when he assumes Ihram from Makkah, will he perform Ramal in the three circuits? He replied that he will perform Ramal. However, Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says that Ramal is for those who assume Ihram from outside and come (to Makkah).

Hazrat Abu Ja'far says that there is no ramal (walking briskly) for the people of Makkah Mukarramah.
