Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that a person in the state of Ihram may use any kind of kohl except the perfumed one.

Mother of the Believers, Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), disliked the use of antimony kohl by a woman in the state of ihram.

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) states that if a person in the state of Ihram has an eye ailment, he may apply kohl, but he should not use such kohl that contains fragrance.

Hazrat Mansur says that I asked Hazrat Mujahid whether a woman in the state of Ihram can apply antimony (ithmid) kohl? He replied, "No." I said, "But it does not contain fragrance?" He replied, "It is an adornment."

Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid states that a woman in ihram may wear any clothing she wishes, whether eastern or western, but she should not apply antimony kohl (ithmid surma).

Hazrat Muhammad bin Abdul Aziz states that I asked Hazrat Jabir bin Zaid whether a woman in the state of ihram can apply antimony kohl (ithmid)? He disliked it.

A woman asked Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abu Bakr and Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) whether a woman in the state of ihram could apply antimony kohl. Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Abu Bakr instructed her to offer a sacrifice.

Hazrat Mujahid says that a mahram woman who has pain in her eye should apply kohl, and she should not use such kohl that contains fragrance.
