Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Hisham bin Hujair says that I had a house in Makkah Mukarramah which I had rented out. I asked Hazrat Tawus about its rent. He instructed me to consume the money from it.

Hazrat Mujahid says that he does not see any harm in renting out the houses of Makkah Mukarramah, except if someone rents them and earns excessive profit from it (then this is not permissible).
