في المحرم يضطر إلى الخفين
If a muhrim is compelled to wear socks
Hadith 15261
١٥٢٦١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا جرير عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه قال: إذا اضطر المحرم إلى لبس (الخفين) (١) خرق ظهورهما وترك فيهما (قدر) (٢) ما (يستمسك) (٣) رجلاه.
Hazrat Urwah says that if a Muhrim is compelled to wear socks, then he should tear the upper part of the socks and leave enough space in it so that his feet can settle.
Hadith 15262
١٥٢٦٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا جرير عن منصور عن إبراهيم قال: إذا اضطر المحرم إلى الخفين خرقهما وترك فيهما قدر الشراك، و (يقطعهما) (١) من قبل كعبيه.
Ibrahim says that when a person in the state of ihram is compelled to wear socks, he should tear them and leave an opening the width of a strap, and cut them from the ankle side.
Hadith 15263
١٥٢٦٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا كثير بن هشام عن جعفر بن برقان قال: قال نافع: يقطع الخفين أسفل من الكعبين.
Hazrat Nafi' says that cut the socks below the ankles.
Hadith 15264
١٥٢٦٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا غندر عن عثمان بن غياث عن عكرمة قال: يتخفف إذا لم يجد نعلين قال: قلت: أيشقهما؟ قال: إن اللَّه لا يحب الفساد.
Hazrat Ikrimah says that when shoes are not available, then wear socks. The narrator says, I asked, should I tear them? He replied: Indeed, Allah Almighty does not like corruption.
Hadith 15265
١٥٢٦٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا غندر عن أشعث عن الحسن أنه (كان) (١) يرخص للمحرم أن يلبس خفين ليسا بمقطوعين.
Hasan says that a person in the state of ihram is permitted to wear socks that are not cut.
Hadith 15266
١٥٢٦٦ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن علية عن أيوب عن نافع عن ابن عمر أن النبي ﷺ قال: "إن لم يجد نعلين لبس الخفين أسفل من الكعبين" (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When shoes are not available, then he should wear such socks that are below the ankles.
