Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Ma’az that a woman came to the service of the Master of the Two Worlds (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I have been afflicted with istihada (non-menstrual bleeding). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: During your (appointed) days, leave the prayer, then perform ghusl, fill it with cotton, perform the circumambulation of the House of Allah, and offer prayer.

Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) regarding a woman experiencing istihada (non-menstrual bleeding) said that she should be instructed to perform ghusl (ritual bath), strive earnestly to attain purity, tie a clean cloth over her private part, and then perform the circumambulation (tawaf) of the House of Allah (the Ka'bah).

A woman came to Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) and asked whether a woman experiencing istihada (non-menstrual bleeding) can perform the circumambulation (tawaf) of the House of Allah. He replied: She should remain seated (according to her prescribed days of worship), then perform ghusl (ritual bath) and do tawaf. She asked: Can a woman experiencing istihada enter the Ka'bah? He replied: She should tie a cloth or something similar, then enter.

Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair was asked whether a woman experiencing Istihada (non-menstrual bleeding) can perform prayers? He replied that yes, she can perform Hajj of the House of Allah even if blood is flowing down to her heels.

Hazrat Saeed bin Al-Musayyib and Hasan say that a woman experiencing istihada will perform all the rituals of Hajj.

Hazrat Zuhri says that a woman experiencing Istihada will also perform the Tawaf of the House of Allah and the Sa'i between Safa and Marwah.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ata that a woman from Makkah says that Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) made me perform Tawaf even though I was lazy and stubborn.

Hazrat Ata says that a woman experiencing istihada will remain seated until her (appointed) days are over, then she will place cotton, perform ghusl, and after performing tawaf of the House of Allah, she may depart.
