Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Aamir says that whoever braids or plaits the hair, then shaving the head is required for them. Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) says that it is according to the intention of the person.

Hazrat Abdullah says that I set out on a Hajj journey with my paternal aunt, Hazrat Maymunah. She applied honey or gum to my head, because of which my hair became disheveled, and she put me in difficulty even though I was in the state of Ihram. I asked you (the Prophet) about it? You said: Dip your head repeatedly in water.

Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that whoever plaits the hair or makes a braid, then their head must be shaved.

Hazrat Umar states that whoever braids the hair, makes a plait, or ties it firmly, it is necessary for them to have their head shaved.

It was asked from Hazrat Abu al-Muhallab, he said: Whoever braids or plaits the hair, it is necessary for him to shave the hair.

Ibrahim says that whoever braids or plaits the hair, shaving the head becomes obligatory for him.

Hazrat Ibn Abi Mulaika says that before putting on the Ihram, I put dust on my head. I met Hazrat Ibn Zubair, and he said that Hazrat Umar makes shaving the head obligatory for the one who applies gum to the hair, whereas in my view, it is obligatory for the one who intends it.
