Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Jabir that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to Arafat. When the sun had declined, he (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered for the she-camel Qaswa, so a saddle was placed on it for him. He (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the bottom of the valley and delivered a sermon to the people.

It is narrated from Hazrat Muhammad bin Qais ibn al-Muttalib that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) delivered a sermon at Arafah.

It is narrated from Hazrat Zuhri that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to deliver a sermon on the Day of Sacrifice. Later, when the rulers became occupied, they postponed the sermon until the next day.

It is narrated from Hazrat Mujahid that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon to the people between the two Jamrahs on the Day of Sacrifice.

Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz used to deliver a sermon to the people before the Day of Tarwiyah, and Hazrat Ibn Zubair used to deliver sermons for a full ten days.

Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Aswad narrates that I saw my father go to the pulpit to Hazrat Ibn Zubair. When he came back down, Hazrat Ibn Zubair recited the Talbiyah. I asked my father, "What did you say to him?" He replied, "I told him that I heard Hazrat Umar used to recite the Talbiyah here on the pulpit."

It is narrated from Hazrat Masruq that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a sermon to the people on the Day of Sacrifice (Yawm al-Nahr).
