Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abdullah bin Kathir narrates that I saw Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz on the fourth day of Ayam al-Nahr, which was a Friday. He stood up and delivered a sermon to the people from the direction of the House of Allah, then spoke a few words, and then performed two rak'ahs of the Friday prayer.

Hazrat Umar bin Khattab offered the Zuhr prayer instead of the Jumu'ah prayer, while the people of the city performed the Jumu'ah prayer.

Hazrat Abdullah states that there is no Friday prayer (Jumu'ah) for Muslims while traveling and when departing (from Hajj) and returning.
