How long should one stay during ‘umrah
Hadith 14237
١٤٢٣٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا عبد اللَّه بن إدريس عن ابن جريج عن مزاحم ابن أبي مزاحم عن عبد العزيز بن عبد اللَّه بن خالد بن (أسيد) (١) عن ⦗١٤٧⦘ (مخرش) (٢) الكعبي أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ اعتمر من الجعرانة (ثم أصبح بالجعرانة) (٣) (كبائت) (٤) (٥).
It is narrated from Hazrat Maharish Al-Ka'bi that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed Umrah from the place of Ja'ranah, then stayed in Ja'ranah like one who spends the night till morning.
Hadith 14238
١٤٢٣٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا هشيم عن مغيرة عن الشعبي أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ أقام في عمرته ثلاثًا (١).
It is narrated from Hazrat Sha'bi that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed for three days during Umrah.
Hadith 14239
١٤٢٣٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا حميد بن عبد الرحمن عن شيخ من بني (غفار) (١) من أهل مكة (عن) (٢) عبد اللَّه بن أبي حية قال: كان أبو ذر إذا دخل مكة لم يقم بها إلا ثلاثًا، حتى يخرج يعني (بحج) (٣) أو (بعمرة) (٤) (٥).
When Hazrat Abu Dharr would come for Hajj or Umrah, he would not stay in Makkah for more than three days.
Hadith 14240
١٤٢٤٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا بشر بن المفضل عن عبد الرحمن بن إسحاق عن أبيه عن عبد الرحمن بن عمرو بن (سهل) (١) قال: لقد رأيت عثمان يقدم مكة ونحن معه، فما يحل بها عقدة حتى يخرج، ما يزيد على أن يطوف بالبيت وبين الصفا والمروة (٢).
Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Amr bin Sahl narrates that I saw Hazrat Usman when he came to Makkah and we were with him. No knot was untied until he left. He did not perform any act other than the Tawaf of the Ka'bah and the Sa'i between Safa and Marwah.
Hadith 14241
١٤٢٤١ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا هشيم عن مغيرة عن إبراهيم أنه كان يستحب أن يقيم المحرم ثلاثًا.
Ibrahim prefers that a Muhrim stays in Makkah for three days.
Hadith 14242
١٤٢٤٢ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا هشيم عن (يونس) (١) عن الحسن مثله.
It is also narrated in the same way from Hasan.
Hadith 14243
١٤٢٤٣ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا هشيم عن حميد بن يعلى (بن) (١) حكيم أن عمر بن عبد العزيز قدم ليلًا وهو معتمر، فقضى عمرته من ليلته، ثم نفر قبل أن يصبح.
Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz came at night to perform Umrah. He completed his Umrah during the night and returned before morning.
Hadith 14244
١٤٢٤٤ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا أبو أسامة عن ابن عون (عن) (١) ابن سيرين قال: كانوا يستحبون أن يقيموا في العمرة ثلاثًا.
Hazrat Ibn Sirin states that the Companions preferred that three days be spent during Umrah.
Hadith 14245
١٤٢٤٥ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا زيد بن حباب عن جعفر بن سليمان عن عطاء بن السائب قال: كان أصحاب عبد اللَّه يقيمون معتمرين، فيقضون الطواف ثم يخرجون من ليلتهم.
Hazrat Ata bin Saib narrates that the companions of Hazrat Abdullah would stay for performing Umrah, they would complete the Tawaf and then depart for the return journey during the night itself.
Hadith 14246
١٤٢٤٦ - [حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا زيد بن حباب (١) عن إسماعيل بن عبد الملك قال: رأيت] (٢) عمر بن عبد العزيز يقدم حاجًا أو معتمرًا فلا يقيم إلا ثلاثًا حتى يخرج.
Hazrat Ismail bin Abdul Malik narrates that I saw Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz; whenever he came for Hajj or Umrah, he would not stay for more than three days until he returned.
Hadith 14247
١٤٢٤٧ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا الفضل [بن دكين عن أفلح عن أبيه: أن عمر أقام في العمرة ثلاث ليال (١).
Hazrat Aflah says that I stayed for three days during Umrah with Hazrat Qasim bin Muhammad.
Hadith 14248
١٤٢٤٨ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا الفضل] (١) عن أفلح قال: أقمت مع القاسم ابن محمد في العمرة ثلاثًا.
Hazrat Umar stayed for three nights during Umrah.
Hadith 14249
١٤٢٤٩ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا الفضل بن دكين عن (عبد اللَّه) (١) بن عمر قال: سمعت مشيختنا يذكرون أن عاصم بن عمر بن الخطاب كان يأتي مكة معتمرًا، فلا يحل رحله حتى يرجع.
Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that I heard from my elders, they used to say that Hazrat Asim bin Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), when he would come to Makkah Mukarramah to perform Umrah, he would return before dismounting from his ride.
Hadith 14250
١٤٢٥٠ - حدثنا أبو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن عيينة عن (إسماعيل بن أمية عن مزاحم ابن أبي مزاحم عن) (١) عبد العزيز بن عبد اللَّه بن خالد بن (أسيد) (٢) عن ⦗١٥٠⦘ (محرش) (٣) أن رسول اللَّه ﷺ اعتمر من الجعرانة ثم أصبح (بها) (٤) (كبائت) (٥) قال: ورأيت ظهره كأنه سبيكة فضة (٦).
It is narrated from Hazrat Maharash that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed Umrah from Ji'ranah, then you spent the night like one who spends the night till morning, and I saw a shine like silver on your blessed back.
