Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ata says that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed seven circuits of Tawaf during his Farewell Pilgrimage, then offered two rak‘ahs, and did so throughout his life in the same manner. Hazrat Ata says that if a person performs Tawaf, I do not like that he offers more than two rak‘ahs, but if someone does offer more rak‘ahs, there is no harm. And if someone finds the door of the Ka‘bah open, he should not enter the Ka‘bah before performing the Sa‘i of Safa and Marwah.

14033 - [قال: فإن طاف رجل فلا أحب أن يزيد على ركعتين، فإن زاد فلا بأس به وإن وجد الكعبة مفتوحة فلا يدخلها حتى يطوف بين الصفا والمروة] (1).
