Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ayyub narrates that I saw Hazrat Qasim, Hazrat Salim, and Hazrat Nafi’ performing the stoning of the Jamrah. Hazrat Qasim, while stoning, would stand between the Jamrah and Makkah, turning his back towards Makkah and keeping the Jamrah in front of him, whereas Hazrat Salim and Hazrat Nafi’ would stand very close to it.

Hazrat Bara bin Saleem narrates that I asked Hazrat Hakam, "From where should I perform the Rami?" He replied, "Go near it and then perform it."

Hazrat Ibn Aun says that I saw Hazrat Qasim; he faced towards the Jamrah and threw (the pebbles) at its roots (towards the lower part).

It is narrated from Hazrat Hisham that when his respected father began the stoning, he would start from the upper side of the first Jamrah, and also from the upper side of the second Jamrah, and for the stoning of Aqabah, he would get as close as possible.

Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Aswad says that when you pass beyond the tree, then perform the stoning of Jamrah Aqabah from beneath its branch.
