Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Humaid says that we asked Hazrat Saib what he had heard regarding staying in Makkah. He replied, I heard from Hazrat Alaa bin Al-Hadrami that the Holy Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: A person who has migrated from Makkah can stay in Makkah for three days after performing Hajj.

Hazrat Aamir says that none of the companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him) (the Muhajireen) stayed in Makkah: and Hazrat Aamir used to say, "Is there no stay?"

Hazrat Abu Sufyan narrates that I stayed in Makkah for six months with Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him).

Hazrat Ata states that Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), and Hazrat Abu Saeed Al-Khudri stayed with us in Makkah.

Hazrat Hisham narrates from his father that Hazrat Ibn Zubair stayed in Makkah for two years.

Hazrat Abdul Malik says that when I stayed in Makkah, Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) bin Hussain and Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair were also present there.

Hazrat Ata narrates that I and Hazrat Ubaid bin Umair Al-Laithi went to Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) while she was staying at the place of Thubair. The narrator says that she had made a vow to stay there for a month, and her brother Hazrat Abdur Rahman forbade her from this and used to say that staying in the House of Allah and performing its Tawaf is, in my view, superior and better than this. The narrator says that when Hazrat Abdur Rahman passed away, Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) left.

Hazrat Umar said that after completing Hajj, do not stay in Makkah for more than three days.

Ismail narrates that when Hazrat Sha’bi was asked about staying in Makkah, he brought forth the letter of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) which was written to the people of Khuza’ah. In that letter it was written that I have prescribed for every emigrant the same ruling as for myself, even if he was from that land, that he will not stay in Makkah except for Hajj and Umrah.

Hazrat Abdullah says that Makkah is not a place for residence and settling.

Hazrat Aamir says that a Muhajir is not permitted to stay in Makkah for more than three days.
