Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Bishr says that I was present with Hazrat Saeed bin Al-Musayyib when a person asked him: I want to enter into Ihram and I have a garment dyed with saffron, but I have washed it so much that its color has faded away. Hazrat Saeed asked: Do you have any other garment besides this? The person replied: No. He said: Then enter into Ihram with this very garment.

Hazrat Saeed bin Al-Musayyib says that he should wash the cloth and then enter into Ihram with it.

Hazrat Salih bin Jubair says that I brought clothes dyed with saffron to Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair and asked: Should I wear the Ihram in this cloth? He replied: Wash it, and then wear the Ihram.

Hazrat Saeed bin Jubair says that there is no harm in washing a garment dyed with saffron and making it into Ihram.

Hazrat Ata says that there is no harm in wearing Ihram after washing a garment dyed with saffron, provided that it does not have any fragrance and its color has also faded.

Ibrahim was asked about wearing clothes dyed with saffron and wars in the state of Ihram. He replied: When the cloth is washed so that its effect is removed, then there is no harm in using it.

It is narrated from Hasan in the same manner.

Hazrat Ibn al-Hanafiyyah says: Wash this cloth and tie the Ihram in it.

Hazrat Abdullah bin Urwah asked Hazrat Urwah about a dyed cloth which had been washed so much that its color had faded away? He forbade him from using that cloth.

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) disliked women wearing saffron-dyed clothes while entering into Ihram, and she disliked yellow-colored clothes for both men and women, except if they had been washed, then there was no harm.

Hazrat Tawus was asked: What is the ruling if a dyed garment is washed so much that its color fades away? He replied: There is no harm in wearing Ihram with that garment.
