Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a funeral of an Ansari man was brought to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) offered his funeral prayer and then inquired: "What has he left behind?" The companions replied: "He has left behind two or three dinars." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "He has left behind two or three scars."

Hazrat Abdur Rahman bin Al-Ada’ says that I heard from Hazrat Abu Umamah, who narrates a hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), that a man passed away and left behind one or two dinars. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: He has left behind one stain or two stains.

Hazrat Abdullah narrates that a black slave met the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), then he passed away. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was informed about him. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: See, has he left anything behind? The companions replied: He has left two dinars. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: These are two stains.

Hazrat Buraid bin Asram narrates that I heard from Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him, may Allah honor his face) that he said: One of the people of Suffah passed away. The companions said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! He has left behind one dinar and one dirham." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are two stains. You perform the funeral prayer of your companion."
