Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Sha'bi says that the meaning of "the approach of the Hour" is sudden death.

Hazrat Abdullah says that sudden and unexpected death is a comfort for the believer and a punishment for the disbeliever.

Hazrat Tamim bin Salamah narrates that one of us passed away suddenly, so one of the companions of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "He was taken away in a state of anger." I mentioned this to Ibrahim, and it was very rare that we would mention a hadith to Ibrahim and not find it with him. He said: The companions disliked sudden taking away (death), just as a usurper is suddenly seized.

Hazrat Abdullah and Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with them) say that sudden death is a source of comfort for the believer and a cause of regret and sorrow for the disbeliever.

Hazrat Mujahid says that sudden death is among the signs of the Day of Judgment.

Hazrat Ubaid bin Khalid narrates from one of the Companions that sudden death is like the taking of a usurper.
