Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Yunus Al-Bahili narrates that I heard from a Sheikh in Makkah who was originally Roman; he narrates from Hazrat Abu Dharr that a man was saying "Oh! Oh!" while performing Tawaf of the Ka'bah. Hazrat Abu Dharr said: One night I went out (and I saw) the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was at the graveyard at that time, burying the same man. And there was also a lamp with you.

Hazrat Hasan bin Muhammad states that Hazrat Fatimah was buried at night.

Hazrat Urwah narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah honor his face) buried Hazrat Fatimah at night.

Hazrat Musa bin Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from his father that I was with Hazrat Uqbah bin Amir when he was asked about the takbirs (declarations of "Allahu Akbar") in the funeral prayer. He replied, "There are four." I asked, "Are they the same during the day and night?" He replied, "The night and the day are the same." I asked, "Can the deceased be buried at night?" He replied, "Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq was buried at night."

Hazrat Qasim bin Muhammad states that Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq was buried at night.

Hazrat Ibn Abi Aroobah narrates that Hazrat Qatadah says that Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood (may Allah be pleased with him) was buried at night, and Hazrat Abu Qatadah disliked this.

Hazrat Ibn Sabbaq narrates that Hazrat Umar buried Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq at night; then he came to the mosque and performed the Witr prayer.

Hazrat Sha'bi narrates that Hazrat Shurayh buried some of his children at night due to fear of crowding: (disliking the crowd).

Hazrat Zur’ah bin Amr narrates from his father Hazrat Amr that we buried Hazrat Uthman bin Affan in Jannat al-Baqi after Isha, and I was one of the four who were carrying his body.

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddiq passed away on a Tuesday night and was buried on the same Tuesday night.

Hazrat Qatadah says that Hazrat Saeed bin Al-Musayyib did not consider there to be any harm in burying at night.

Hazrat Khalid bin Sameer as-Sudusi narrates that I asked Hazrat Anas about offering the funeral prayer at night. He replied, offering the funeral prayer at night is just like offering it during the day.

Ibn Aun narrates that we buried Ibrahim at night, and all of us were afraid.

Hazrat Abu Hurrah states that Hasan disliked burying (the deceased) at night.

Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that we were not aware of the burial of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) when we heard the voices of some passersby in the last part of the night. That night was Wednesday night.
