Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Nafi’ narrates that whenever Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) intended to enter the Prophet’s Mosque (peace and blessings be upon him), he would perform prayer, then come to the Prophet’s Rawdah and offer greetings in this manner: “Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah, peace be upon you, O Abu Bakr, peace be upon you, O my father.” Then he would turn to other matters. Similarly, when he returned from a journey, he would do this before entering his house.
