Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ibrahim narrates that the grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was made with a niche, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) was placed in the grave from the direction of the Qiblah, and the blessed grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was raised until it was recognizable.

Hazrat Umair bin Saeed narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) lowered the deceased into the grave from the direction of the Qiblah.

Imam Shabi states that the deceased should be held from the direction of the Qiblah.

Hazrat Imran bin Abi Ata states that I was present at the time of the death of Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), so his funeral prayer was led (the arrangements were made) by Hazrat Ibn al-Hanafiyyah, and he said four takbirs in it and the deceased was lowered into the grave from the direction of the Qiblah.

Hazrat Umair bin Saeed narrates that Hazrat Ali (may Allah honor his face) led the funeral prayer of Hazrat Yazid bin Al-Mukaffaf and recited four takbeers in it, and he lowered him into the grave from the direction of the Qiblah.

It is narrated from Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) placed the deceased in the grave from the direction of the Qiblah and recited four Takbirs over him.

Hazrat Hasan bin Ubaidullah narrates that Ibrahim lowered the deceased into the grave from the direction of the Qiblah.

The same is narrated from Hazrat Hasan bin Ubaidullah.
