Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Abu Ishaq says that I was present at the funeral of Hazrat Harith. People hung a cloth over his grave (for privacy). Hazrat Abdullah bin Yazid pulled it away and said, "These are men."

Hazrat Yahya bin Qais narrates that Hazrat Shurayh had instructed in his will that no cloth should be hung over his grave.

Hazrat Asim says that I was present at a funeral in which Hasan and Hazrat Ibn Sirin were also present. A cloth was hung over the grave, so Hasan said: (What is the need for this?) These are men, and Hazrat Ibn Sirin did not see any harm in it.

Ibrahim narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) lowered Hazrat Sa’d into the grave and spread a cloth over him.
