Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) said: When you fear that you may miss the funeral prayer and at that time you do not have ablution, then perform tayammum and offer the funeral prayer.

Hazrat Ikrimah says: If a funeral comes to you and you do not have ablution, then perform tayammum and offer its funeral prayer.

Ibrahim says: When the time for the funeral prayer comes and you do not have ablution, then if you have water available at that time, perform ablution and offer the prayer. And if there is no water, then perform tayammum and offer the funeral prayer.

Ibrahim says: When there is a fear of missing the funeral prayer, then perform tayammum.

Hazrat Ata says that if there is a fear of missing the funeral prayer, then perform tayammum and offer the prayer.

Ibrahim says: When you fear missing the funeral prayer, then perform tayammum.

Hazrat Sha'bi says: When there is a fear of missing the funeral prayer, then perform tayammum.

Hazrat Hakam says that if you fear missing the funeral prayer and you do not have ablution, then perform tayammum.

Hazrat Qasim says that do not perform the funeral prayer without ablution.

Hasan says: He should neither perform tayammum nor offer the funeral prayer until he performs ablution.

Hasan says that he should perform tayammum and offer the funeral prayer.

Hazrat Ata was asked: If a person (does not have ablution) and fears missing the funeral prayer, (can he perform tayammum?) He replied: No, he should not perform tayammum.
