Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Hazrat Nafi' narrates that Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to raise his hands at every takbeer during the funeral prayer.

Hazrat Ibn Jurayj states that Hazrat Ata used to raise his hands at every takbeer of the funeral prayer, and those who were behind him (the followers) would also raise their hands.

Hazrat Musa bin Naeem, who was the servant of Hazrat Zaid bin Thabit, says: It is from the Sunnah that the hands should be raised with every Takbeer in the funeral prayer.

Hazrat Khalid bin Abu Bakr says that I saw Hazrat Salim, that he recited four takbirs over the funeral and was raising his hands with every takbir.

Hazrat Umar bin Abi Zaidah says that I offered prayer behind Hazrat Qais bin Abi Hazim; he performed Raf‘ al-Yadayn (raising of the hands) at every Takbeer.

Imam Zuhri says that I saw Ibrahim; when he performed the funeral prayer, he would raise his hands in the first takbeer, then he would not raise his hands in the remaining takbeers, and he used to say four takbeers.

Hazrat Sufyan states that Hazrat Hasan bin Ubaidullah would perform the raising of hands (raf‘ al-yadayn) only in the first takbeer of the funeral prayer.

Hazrat Nafi' narrates that Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to raise his hands at every takbeer of the funeral prayer.

It is narrated from Ibn Aun that Muhammad used to raise his hands in prayer when he would bow (for ruku) and when he would raise his head from ruku (he would raise his hands), and he would also raise his hands at every takbeer in the funeral prayer.

Hazrat Nafi'ah bin Muslim narrates that Hazrat Suwaid would lead our funeral prayer, and he would perform the raising of hands (raf' al-yadayn) only in the first takbeer.
