Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah

Ibrahim says that incense will be given to the clothes of the deceased before giving him the shroud.

Hasan says that the clothes of the deceased (the shroud) should be hung on a hanger, etc., and perfumed with incense, and Muhammad says that if they do so, it is good, and I prefer that after shrouding him, his clothes should be perfumed with incense so that its fragrance remains.

Hazrat Hafs states that only the clothes of the deceased will be fumigated.

Hazrat Fatimah says that when Hazrat Asma’s final time approached, she said: When I die, give me ghusl (ritual washing), then shroud me, and then perfume my clothes with incense.
